Objectives:

The Diwali Carnival was organised with the objective of celebrating the spirit of Diwali through joy, unity, and creativity. The event aimed to bring together students and teachers in a festive environment that promoted cultural appreciation, artistic expression, and community bonding. It also sought to provide a platform for students to display their talents and entrepreneurial skills through various activities and stalls.

Detailed Report:

The Diwali Carnival organised by the Melange Club on 14th October in Auditorium of UG Management Department was a great success. The entire venue was beautifully decorated with vibrant lights, diyas, handmade decor crafts and colorful lanterns that added to the festive charm. The event commenced with an enthusiastic introduction by the anchors. It was followed by a traditional dance performance that caught the attention of the audience. Students and teachers actively participated in the celebration, making the day full of enthusiasm, laughter, and togetherness. The carnival featured a blend of cultural, artistic and fun-filled activities that truly embodied the spirit of Diwali.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT:

  1. Stalls and Food Counters

A wide variety of stalls were set up by students featuring handmade crafts, jewellery, festive décor, and traditional sweets. Food counters offered mouth-watering snacks and delicacies such as chaat, golgappas, and sweets, gifting hampers adding flavor and excitement to the celebration. The golgappas stall was a huge success and was finished even before the event started. All the stalls turned out to be profitable for the stall owners. The entrepreneurial spirit of the students shone brightly through these creative and well-managed stalls.

  1. Cultural Showcase:

The cultural performances were one of the most awaited segments of the day. Students presented traditional and modern dances, skits, and musical renditions that reflected the rich heritage of India. Each performance beautifully portrayed the values of Diwali - victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

  1. Dance and Music Performances

The stage came alive with energetic dance performances and melodious musical acts by students. The beats of traditional folk songs mixed with contemporary tunes created an atmosphere of celebration. The audience applauded every act wholeheartedly. The group performances not only portrayed grace but the coordination of students among themselves and built enthusiasm in the audience. The dance performances by freshers and seniors built up the audience engagement completely.

  1. Fashion Walk

The Fashion Walk was a major attraction, where students showcased traditional Indian attire with confidence and grace. The ramp was filled with colorful sarees, kurta-pajamas, lehengas, and sherwanis, symbolizing India’s cultural diversity. The event concluded with the crowning of “Best Ethnic Wear” titles. It was a whole audience engaging performance and an eye catching walk by all the participants.

Felicitation Ceremony:

The event concluded with a Felicitation Ceremony to honor the efforts and achievements of participants, volunteers, and coordinators. The teachers presented tokens of appreciation and mementos to the winners of - cultural showcase performances. The organizing committee members were also felicitated for their dedication and teamwork in making the carnival a grand success. The ceremony added a graceful and heartfelt end to the joyous celebration, leaving everyone inspired and appreciated.

Conclusion:

The Diwali Carnival was a grand success, filled with joy, colors, music, and togetherness. It not only celebrated the festival of lights but also strengthened the bond among the school community. The event truly reflected the essence of Diwali - spreading happiness, creativity, and light in every heart.
