Objectives:

The primary objectives of observing National Anti-Ragging Day on 12th August 2025 and Anti-Ragging Week from 12th – 18th August 2025 were to:

  • Spread awareness about the harmful effects of ragging in educational institutions.
  • Encourage students to raise their voices against ragging and create a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus environment.
  • Engage youth in creative activities such as competitions and workshops to channel their energy towards positive expression.
  • Reinforce the vision of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education in eradicating ragging from all higher education institutions.

Detailed Report:

The event was organized under the guidance of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Government of India and was hosted at Lloyd Group of Institutions. The campaign was held as part of the national movement #YaARIYouthAgainstRagging, aiming to sensitize students and empower them to take an active stand against ragging.

On 14th August 2025 UG Management Department organised various awareness and engagement activities including:

  • Slogan Writing Competition – Students expressed their views creatively through impactful slogans promoting an anti-ragging culture.
  • Poster Making Competition – Participants designed posters that visually depicted the ill effects of ragging and encouraged harmony among peers.
  • Debate Competition – Students engaged in intellectual discussions highlighting the legal, social, and psychological aspects of ragging and its prevention.
  • Reel / Short Film Competition – Budding creators showcased their talent through short videos and reels spreading anti-ragging messages in innovative ways.
  • Meme Making Competition – To appeal to the digital generation, students created engaging memes with strong anti-ragging messages in a humorous yet effective manner.

The event not only created awareness but also fostered creativity, teamwork, and responsible citizenship among students. The interactive workshops and competitions ensured maximum student involvement and strengthened the message of a ragging-free campus.

Conclusion:

The observance of National Anti-Ragging Day and Week 2025 at Lloyd Group of Institutions successfully achieved its objectives by instilling awareness, responsibility, and solidarity among students. The active participation in competitions and campaigns reflected the youth's commitment to building a safe and respectful learning environment.

The initiative reaffirmed the institute's dedication to upholding the directives of the UGC and Ministry of Education in maintaining a ragging-free campus. Such continuous awareness programs serve as powerful reminders that ragging has no place in academia and that every student has the right to study in a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
